Virginia Griscom Doran

Virginia G. Doran, 79, of Sarasota, Florida, passed away peacefully in her sleep on July 20, 2026. Virginia was born on January 9, 1947, to Elmer W. Griscom and Ruth H. Griscom. She was a proud homemaker who loved her children and enjoyed being involved in all their various activities including being a Cheer Coach, a Girl Scout Leader, and a Team Mom for all their sports teams.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward F. Doran, her parents, Elmer and Ruth, her brother, David R. Griscom, and her sister, Mary Lou Taylor. She is survived by her children, Jennifer Fontana (Michael), Christopher Doran (Nelly), Margaret “Meg” Pack (Tracy), and Patrick Doran (Tracy), her grandchildren, Nicholas Fontana, Julia Fontana, Madison Pack, Tanner Pack, Nathanael Doran and Liam Doran, her sister, Elizabeth Davies, and all her nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Tidewell Hospice Sarasota. A private family service will be held at Sarasota Memorial Park at a later date.
