Victoria Mae Bird, 86, of Sarasota, FL passed away on May 16, 2021 of cancer.
Victoria was born on September 15, 1934. She moved to Sarasota in 1974 from Dayton, OH. She was an active member of Incarnation Catholic Church since moving to Sarasota. She loved Sarasota, the surrounding area and the arts. Once in Sarasota, she picked up ballroom dancing and danced competitively for years. While doing so, she placed in most competitions entered around the US. She was also active in real estate for over 45 years in the area and has made many great friends while doing so.
Victoria was such a huge Tampa Bay Rays fan, that she barely missed a game. If she wasn’t sitting in the stadium watching the game live, she was at home watching it on tv. When there was a game on and the Rays were playing well, you could expect multiple phone calls every time they had a good play or they scored.
Victoria was proceeded in death by her daughter Latitia Louis Bird and grandsons Michael James Bird and Christopher John Drier. She is survived by her sister Kathy Ling, children LaVinia Drier (John), Marcus Bird Sr. (Loretta), Linda Holden, granddaughter Lauren Ruggerio nee Drier (Robert), grandson Marcus Bird Jr., granddaughter Melissa Smith nee Holden (Steve), grandson John Holden (Romie), nieces, nephews, great grandchildren and a great, great grandchild.
Victoria loved her friends in her singles group from church. She often spoke about playing Bunco with her friends and the memories and laughs they shared.
Services will be held at Incarnation Catholic Church, 2901 Bee Ridge Rd, Sarasota, FL 34239 on Saturday June 5th at 10am.
