Thomas James Sweeney Jr

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Thomas J. Sweeney, Jr. on March 13, 2026.

 

Born in Pittsburgh, PA as oldest of five siblings.  After high school graduation he moved to Daytona Beach to attend college.  Ormond Beach is where he settled and built his life. He worked in retail for many years.  After retirement and an illness, he moved to Sarasota in 2021 to be with family. 

 

He is survived by his two brothers Robert Sweeney and William Sweeney of Pittsburgh, sister Carolyn Fuccy and her husband Robert Fuccy of Sarasota.   He was preceded in death by his parents Thomas Sr. and Audrey Sweeney and his sister Linda Sweeney-Cromartie.

 

He will be remembered for his positive temperament and great sense of humor. He will be greatly missed by family and friends.
