He loved to tinker, was a fan of all things John Deere, enjoyed meeting his friends for coffee, was an avid Ohio State football fan, and loved his family and friends dearly. The amount of people he touched throughout his life, whether it be neighbors, family, co-workers, friends, a waitress at a restaurant, or the nurse taking caring of him, was simply incredible.

He spent part of his service in the Chemical Corps achieving the rank of 1st Lieutenant. He worked as a Soil Conservationist and Supervisor throughout Ohio and retired while working in Washington, DC in 2010. He later moved to Sarasota, FL in 2013 with his wife, Pat, where he spent the remainder of his life.
