Sue Carter Tidler, 76, formerly of Tipton County, Ind., passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2019, in her home in Rotonda West, Fla., after a short battle with pancreatic and liver cancer.
She was born on Dec. 1, 1942, to Orvis Earlin and Naoma Francis Carter in Clinton County, Ind.
She graduated in 1960 from Jefferson High School in Kempton, Ind. She married Phillip Joe Tidler on Oct. 19, 1963, at Kempton Christian Church in Kempton.
She worked for the Tipton office of the Kokomo Tribune for years and then worked in advertising for the Kokomo Tribune in Kokomo before retiring. She also taught at Midwest Career College for a few years before babysitting her grandchildren.
She attended Fairfield Christian Church in Kokomo and East Englewood Church of Christ in Englewood, Fla.
Sue was funny, smart, and loved spending time with her grandkids. She was known for her quick wit, great sense of humor, and having a good time. She loved the beach, reading, and ice cream. She never knew a stranger and was a true friend.
Surviving are her husband; two daughters and sons-in-law, Carri and Christian Randler of Mooresville, Ind., and Lori and Nick Hugley of Westfield, Ind.; nine grandchildren, Carter Burton, Spenser Burton, Chrystal Randler (and T.J. Novakowski), Nancy (and Chris) Bittner, Haydon Buck, Nicki Hugley, Jordan Tidler, Kaleb McLin, and Kayla McLin; three great-grandchildren, Alexis Bittner, Zachary Bittner, and Ryan Bittner; one sister and brother-in-law, Nell and Don Lowry of Olathe, Kan.; a sister-in-law, Kathy Carter of Kempton; and a brother-in-law, Stan Friend of Tipton.
Her parents; son, Travis Tidler of Dover, Del.; a sister, Anna Friend of Tipton; and two brothers, James Carter of Kokomo and Earlin Carter of Kempton, preceded her in death.
A Celebration of Life will be at 4 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 27, at East Englewood Church of Christ in Englewood and at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 10, at Fairfield Christian Church in Kokomo.
