Stanley Ray Welch

Stanley Ray Welch, 76 of Sarasota Florida, passed away on Sunday, January 5, 2025 in hospice. Stan was a kind and gentle soul who was always curious about the world, sought spiritual growth, loved nature, and had a great big laugh. Born in Modesto California, Stanley spent his youth skateboarding, riding bikes, collecting army men, assembling model cars and tinkering in the garage.
As he grew into a teenager, he developed a love for surfing in Santa Cruz and hiking the Redwoods in Northern California. The Rolling Stones and The Beatles could always be heard coming from his bedroom. After graduating high school, he lived with his grandparents, William (Sam) and Lenora Welch, in Ceres California and went to a local trade school to learn carpentry. As a life long carpenter, he worked in construction and home restoration. He loved to ride motorcycles, and he continued his spiritual growth and got out into nature as much as possible. In 1969 Stan began teaching yoga in an ashram and in 1972 he became a certified Transcendental Meditation Teacher and traveled with the famous Maharishi teaching meditation. In 1985 he became a numerologist and practiced this art for 40
years.
In the early 2000’s he moved to Sarasota Florida where he worked for a green building company constructing custom homes by day and by night he worked on writing his first series of books titled BROvolution. Stan was a prolific writer and ended up writing and self publishing eleven books before his death.
Stan is survived by his sister, Teresa Salvato, his nieces and nephew (Celeste Hejlik, Jasa McCall, Morgan Abreo, Mary Knoth, Amy Crawford their families his brother in law Darrell Etter, and countless friends. He was proceeded in death by his sister, Sharon Etter in 2019 , his mother Marcella Mae Welch in 2016 and father, Samuel Earnest Welch in 1991. He will be greatly missed by all.
