Sharlene Burnette, born Sharlene Ruff in Wauchula, Florida, passed away on May 1, 2026.
Sharlene was a devoted wife, loving mother of two, and a genuinely kind soul whose greatest joy in life was caring for her family. She worked alongside her husband in their family business and took immense pride in creating a warm, welcoming home. Her selflessness, compassion, and gentle nature left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know her.
She loved spending time with her family, whether on vacations, dining out, boating, or shooting pool. She especially loved singing karaoke. Known as “Trixie” when she took the stage, Sharlene brought energy, laughter, and excitement wherever she performed, often getting the whole room involved with her enthusiasm and signature “WooHoo!”
Sharlene embraced life wholeheartedly and was known for her caring heart, beautiful smile, striking blue eyes, and fun-loving spirit. She also had a flair for fashion and could often be found wearing her favorite fancy boots, blingy shirts, and sparkling jewelry.
More than anything, Sharlene cherished being a mother. She treasured every conversation, text message, and moment spent with Chance and Lexi. Her children, husband, and family were the center of her world, and she loved them unconditionally.
Sharlene is survived by her husband of 38 years, Tom Burnette; her daughter, Lexi Burnette; and her son, Chance Burnette. She is also survived by her sisters, Kristie Meredith (Mike), Christy Banach, and Regina Ruff; her brother, Jason Ferrara; and her sister-in-law, Tina Burnette-Blashock (Mark).
She is further survived by her nieces and nephews, Devon Meredith, Graci Doyle, Brooke Banach, Izabella Banach, Sierra Blashock, Cassie Betts, Victoria Ackley, Monica Burnette, and Jesse Meadows.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Information regarding the service will be announced by the family once arrangements are finalized. Please text Tom Burnette at 941-404-5915 for further information.
Sharlene will forever be loved, cherished, and remembered by all who knew her.
