Sally Ann Seldin grew up in Brooklyn, Ny with her parents, Ruth and Abraham (Al) and younger brother, George. She loved animals from a young age. She was only 18 when she married her husband of almost 63 years, Kenny Reistad. They had 4 daughters, which they raised in Putnam Valley, NY with a house full of dogs and a few cats.
Betty enjoyed the dog show circuit, and at the age of 59 began riding cutting horses. She achieved her goal of attaining her “buckle” by the age of 60. And is survived by her 38 y/o horse, Martini.
Betty and Ken retired to Florida to be closer to family, but enjoyed summering in NY for many years.
In the last few years, Betty and Ken lived with their daughter Linda. Betty was preceded in death by her husband and is survived by her brother, George, daughters: Lorraine, Lisa, Linda, and Kacey, as well as 6 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
Mom taught her daughters to be strong independent women. She loved fiercely and home was often filled with strays, 2 and 4 legged alike. Her family is pained by her passing, but comforted in the knowledge that she and Kenny are reunited eternally.
