Ronald Silber, 79, passed away on March 25, 2026, in Sarasota, FL.
Ron was born in Elizabeth, New Jersey, on August 14, 1946. He was the beloved son of Sylvia and Israel Silber.
Ron earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from Rutgers University in 1968, followed by his Juris Doctor from Brooklyn Law School in 1971. For over 40 years, he practiced law as a partner at Krevsky, Silber, Brown & Bergen in Cranford, New Jersey, until his retirement in 2010.
He served on the New Jersey Supreme Court Committee on Matrimonial Litigation from 1980–1981.
In addition, Ron served as President of Hospice Provider Group, a group purchasing organization dedicated to supporting hospice care from 1993 until his retirement in 2023.
He was also a Past President of Mt. Nebo Masonic Lodge in Westfield, New Jersey, where he demonstrated his leadership and dedication to community.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 40 years Geri, nee Denholtz, his loving daughters Rachel Wu and Alycia Brown and their husbands Bruno and Geoff; his cherished granddaughter, Olivia Brown; and his sons, Michael and David. He leaves behind his sisters, Marline, Carole and Elaine, along with many loving nieces, nephews and cousins.
Ron will be remembered for his intelligence, his dedication, and his love for his family.
Ron's greatest joy was being a father. He especially enjoyed attending his daughters’ dance recitals and theater performances—moments filled with pride, love, and unwavering support. Those memories reflect the kind of father he was: present, devoted, and deeply proud of his children. He also found joy in the simple, meaningful moments of life. Some of his happiest times were spent with his wife and children bike riding, reading, enjoying Broadway shows, watching movies and playing games —laughing, connecting, and creating memories that will be cherished forever.
And of course, he enjoyed his poker games, where laughter and friendly competition were always part of the evening.
The funeral service will be private. Family and friends are invited to visit the Silber home on Friday, April 3 from 12 to 4 and Saturday, April 4 from 12 to 4 to pay their respects and share memories.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Ron’s memory to Tidewell Hospice, Sarasota, Florida.
