Ralph Edward Gibson, Sr.

Ralph E. Gibson Sr., 68, passed away peacefully with his wife at his side on April 19, 2021. On the last leg of his journey, the family made sure he was sent off in style wearing his Rendezvous Pool League T-shirt and a cue stick in his hand. Ralph was born in New Albany, IN and raised in Sarasota, FL. He enjoyed cabinetry, coaching Babe Ruth Baseball, refereeing ACA pool, helping others, playing pool, and making others laugh. He was quite the jokester and found humor in almost anything. In 1989, he helped lead his baseball team to the Babe Ruth World Series, where they placed 2nd. Everyone that knows Ralph, knows how we loved the game of pool. Pool was his home away from home. 

He is survived by his wife, Beth Gibson, of 50 years. 

Brothers: Bobby & Tia (Stockton) Gibson and David & Vicki Gibson. 

Children: Ralph & Julie Gibson, Melissa Gibson, and Tracey & Leonard Mays

Grandchildren: Chelsee & David Weathersby, Taylor & Brandon Wright, Trinity Gibson, Juliana Gossett & Kegan Beister, Zachary Gibson & Ashley McDonald, Anthony Mays, Olivia Rose Mays, and four great grandchildren. 

A celebration of life will be held Sunday, May 23, 2021 at Rendezvous Lounge at 1 pm. 1570 N. Lockwood Ridge Rd, Sarasota, FL. A pool tournament will be held so bring your best cue stick!
