Omar Gonzalez-Quevedo, age 51, born in Weehawken, New Jersey on September 4, 1973, passed away suddenly at his home in Sarasota, Florida on May 31, 2025. He is survived by his mother, Delia Gonzalez-Quevedo; his brother, Rodolfo Javier Quevedo; his sister-in-law, Estrella; his nephew, Andrew; his niece and goddaughter, Jayleen; and his beloved dog, Katie. Omar’s father, Rodolfo Ramon Gonzalez-Quevedo, preceded him in death.
Omar was a vibrant and outgoing spirit, known for his quick wit and jokester nature that could light up any room. An avid sports fan, he was always rooting passionately for a Jets win and sharing that enthusiasm with friends and family alike. Among his many hobbies and interests were his deep love and support for veterans, his passion for playing drums in a bagpipe band, his dedication to a genealogy journey that connected him deeply to his family’s roots, and his love and compassion for animals.
Omar was a man of great faith in God and was devoted to bringing family and friends together. His commitment to uniting people was embodied in his organization of the Gonzalez-Quevedo family reunion and in the creation of his personal Hall of Fame, where he celebrated and inducted those who made a positive impact on his life.
Cherished by a close-knit circle of friends, Omar’s warmth, humor, and generosity left an indelible mark on everyone fortunate enough to know him. Though he is deeply missed, his spirit continues to live on in the hearts of his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of crossing his path.
