Michael John Considine
07/28/1953 - 11/29/2023
Mike Considine, age 70 passed away on November 29th at the Tidewell Hospice House after years of fighting Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma.
Born in Niagara Falls, New York, Mike wanted to enjoy the sunshine and warmth of Florida and lived in Sarasota for over 40 years. During that time, he moved for a few years to Tulsa, Oklahoma to be near his 2 brothers and they all played for the Tulsa Lacrosse Club.
Mike had numerous careers over the years the last being successful in outside sales even though he would say that he is not a people person. He enjoyed golfing even though not the best at it and loved watching the tournaments on TV. He loved being able to attend The Players twice and some of his happiest times was when he lived for many years on a golf course. But Mike’s passion was cooking for family & friends and that is what he missed the most as his illness started to get worse. Those who knew Mike over the years will remember his sarcastic attitude, practical jokes, quick wit and being an extremely hard worker.
Mike is predeceased by his father Patrick Considine and mother Dorothy Considine. Mike leaves behind his life-long partner Doris DeMaria who was with him when he passed, brothers Dan (Texas) and Patrick (Oklahoma), sister Kathy (Georgia), daughters Michelle Saunders (Venice) and Gina Considine (North Port) and grandson Ian along with many nieces, nephews and friends.
Special thanks to the nurses, doctors and staff at Sarasota Memorial Hospital Oncology Tower and also the Tidewell Hospice House (too many to name individually). They were the most compassionate, caring individuals we have ever meet and we will never forget. And to Mike’s best friend William (Billy) Loker who visited Mike daily in Hospice House. Billy will be our dear friend forever. Rest in Peace Mike – until we meet again.
A Celebration of Life will held at a later date.
