Lillian Alderman Pennington

Lillian (Morris) Alderman Pennington, 91, of Sarasota, Florida, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 5, 2024.  Born March 25, 1933 in Kraemer Island, Lake Okeechobee, Florida, Lillian was a lifelong Floridian, with most of her life spent in Sarasota. 

Lillian was preceded in death by her sons Lewis Alderman Jr and Roy D. Alderman, and daughter Linda Massey. Also preceded by her parents, Bruce Sr. and Sally Morris, as well as her 5 siblings. 

She is survived by daughters Dana Hilgendorf (CJ) and Sue Rees (Rob), and 11 grandchildren.  She also had 19 great grandchildren,  2 great great granddaughters, and several dear nieces and nephews.

Lillian decided to teach herself how to make draperies because as a single mother, she needed to work at home to take care of her children.  She spent over 50 years making beautiful window treatments including the red velvet draperies at The Ringling Mansion. 

Her family was always her priority, and she sacrificed often through the years for them. She will be greatly missed by all.
