Laura Marie Vericella born May 26, 1965. Went to be with Our Lord Feb 6, 2019.
Born in Sarasota, Florida, Laura was welcomed by four brothers at home. Laura was a loving mother, sister, daughter, and friend. Raised in Sarasota, Laura attended Incarnation Catholic School elementary, McIntosh Middle School, and Sarasota High School. Laura graduated from Sarasota Vo-Tech as a Certified Nursing Assistant, then was employed as a CNA at Bay Village Nursing for 17 years, followed by many years of private duty nursing. Next to family, Laura loved her nursing, family gatherings, music, the beach, movies, and cats.
Laura will be missed by many. Her last five years were spent with her elder parents 'Daddy' Don and Mimi Winter. She is survived by her son and daughter in-law Joseph and Heather DeFrancisco, grandchildren Emmaline and Joseph Thomas DeFrancisco, mother Mary 'Mimi' Winter, brothers Frank (Susan), Dan (Bonnie), and Mike Vericella, sister Helen Vericella (Jeff), half-sister Francesca Tyler, step-sister Erica Vericella, and David Rudd cousin/friend to Laura and her family. Laura is also survived by many others in her large extended family, as well as close family friend Shondi and her son Zoriah.
She is preceded in death by her daughter Jennifer Marie DeFrancisco, father Frank Delano Vericella, brother Patrick Vericella, and 'Daddy' Don Winter.
A mass will be held in Laura's honor at St. Michael's Catholic Church, 5394 Midnight Pass Rd (Siesta Key), Sarasota, FL. Ceremony to follow to bury Laura's ashes in St. Michael's Memorial Garden. A gathering of family and friends will be held at Colonial Oaks Park, 5300 Colonial Blvd, Sarasota, FL.
