“Kenny” Reistad passed away peacefully at home Tuesday night surrounded by his loving wife of almost 63 years, Sally, and his 4 daughters.
Kenneth was born in Brooklyn, NY to Norwegian immigrants: Sigvald and Marie Reistad. Kenny enjoyed growing up in NY with his 3 brothers: Beau, Dennis, and his twin, Roy. Kenny enlisted in the Navy as a young man and married his beautiful sweetheart, Sally Anne Seldin, whom he called “Betty”. After his time in the Navy, Betty and Ken moved to Putnam Valley, NY, where they raised their 4 daughters: Lorraine, Lisa, Linda, and Kacey. Ken was a devoted husband and father, taking his girls to the beach and the drive in, and out for ice cream.
Ken retired from Indian Point Nuclear Power Plant and moved to Florida with Betty to be closer to his children. In his later years, Ken enjoyed golf and boating, but what he most enjoyed was spending time with his family. Most recently, he and Betty have resided with their daughter, Linda, in Sarasota.
Ken is survived by his brother Robert “Beau”, his 4 daughters, 6 grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren: Jesse, Kalyn, Amanda, Kennan, Emerson, Lila, Michael, Jace, Easton, Colton, and Berkeley, respectively.
Kenny was a good man, a wonderful husband, and the best father any daughter could ask for. He will be missed by all who knew him.
