John Davis Rorer

On October 30, 2021, John Davis Rorer passed away peacefully at Tidewell Hospice House of Bradenton.
Born December 6, 1949, he grew up in Albany, GA, before moving to Florida in the 1980s. John’s passion in life was service to others. Through philanthropic endeavors, he imported Haitian art to support those Haitian families and their path to immigration and citizenship, he also coordinated and lead several medical missions in both Haiti and Ecuador.
John, known to many as Davis, was preceded in death by his father, William Asbury Rorer, mother, Eugenia Gunn Davis Rorer, brother, Willaim Asbury Rorer, Jr., and daughter, Leslie Carolyn Hedin.
He is survived by his daughters, Scarlett Annabel (Rorer) Cole and Johanna Elizabeth Rorer, granddaughter, Alicia Alexander, nephew, Robert Earl McTigue II, niece, Eugenia Gunn Davis Rorer, grand-nephew, Arthur M. Borrusch IV, grand-niece, Mary M. Borrusch, great-grand-nephew, James Bailey, and great-grand-niece, Brielle N. Beardsley.
He rarely met a stranger and was loved by everyone who had the pleasure to know him. He will be greatly missed. Memorial contributions may be made to Tidewell Hospice House or any philanthropic charity of your choice.
