Jennifer was born in Hartford, CT and grew up in Vernon, CT. She was a graduate of Rockville High School and worked for both Hartford Hospital and Aetna Insurance and continued to work for Aetna after moving to Bradenton, FL with her husband, Michael and daughter Kayla.
While in CT, Jen was founder and President of Little Feet, Big Dog Rescue., a non-profit which benefited rescue dogs . Jen had a deep love for the dogs who were left behind and those from puppy mills. She took them into her home, had them vetted, and ultimately found them the best possible adoptable family to nurture and love them. She had as many as 15 in her home at one time when she took an entire litter until they were adopted. She brought her rescue to Florida with her and worked diligently to place unwanted dogs.
She leaves her husband, Michael Wemmell, her daughter Kayla Elon Terry-Wemmell. She also leaves her mother, Harriet Marek of Sarasota, FL, her father John C. Dewey of CT, her stepfather, Gene Marek of Kissimmee, FL and her stepsisters, Cassandra & Danielle Wemmell of CT.
