James W. Mithen

Sarasota, FL/Salem, CT – James Mithen, 88, of Sarasota, FL and Salem, CT passed away peacefully on May 10, 2024. He was born to James and Anna Mithen in Wells ME on December 28, 1935.

 

He grew up in Wells Maine until moving to Bozrah Connecticut in 1965. He attended Wells High School. Before retiring, he was employed by Pratt and Whitney Aircraft in East Hartford, CT. Jim loved gardening and old movies. 

 

Jim is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Evelyn Mithen. He leaves behind three brothers, Thomas Mithen, Francis Mithen and John Mithen. Also predeceased by a sister, Patricia Miller. Jim also has two daughters, Patricia (Mithen) Sargent of Lyman, ME, and Kathleen (Mithen) McInerney of Norwich, CT; Stepdaughters Holly Hoodenpyle of Florida and Heidi (Hoodenpyle) Gil of CT. His Grandchildren, Kyle McInerney, Samantha McInerney, James Sargent, Kevin Sargent, and Andrew Gil. Great-grandchildren Alexis McInerney, Chloee McInerney, and Landon Sargent.

 

A private burial is planned.
