James Laverne Davidson, aged 87, of Onaway, Michigan passed away on October 22, 2024. Born on August 28, 1937, James dedicated six years of his life to the United States Navy, embodying the values of honor and commitment.
Following his military service, James pursued a career as a welder before transitioning to a devoted stay-at-home father. His life was marked by a profound work ethic and an unwavering dedication to his family. James was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend, always there to support and nurture those around him.
James lived most of his life in Nokomis, Fl where he met his beloved wife of 47 years. He was deeply involved in his community and his faith, actively participating in Venice Assembly of God (Lift Church) in Venice, FL, and Sandy Baptist Church in Myakka, FL. He was an avid lover of the United States flag, eagles, and anything Harley Davidson. He was well known in his neighborhood for his eagerness to lend a helping hand and for friendly conversations.
He is survived by his children Jeffery Davidson, Rusty Davidson (Tiffany), Misty Fox (Sean), and Rachel Davidson; grandchildren Jacob, Cody, Samantha, Sarah, James, Christopher, Taylor, Cheyanne (Scott), Christa (DJ, Colby, Breanna, Donna, and Serenity Ellen, his great-granddaughter. James was preceded in death by his parents Luella Roberts and James Davidson, his beloved wife Nancy Davidson, and his son Phillip Davidson.
A service to honor his life will be held at the National Cemetery in Sarasota, FL. Wednesday, November 6, 2:30 pm. James's life was a testament to his strong values and the deep love he had for his family and community. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
