James Kevin Kuhl, age 73 of Sarasota, Florida, passed away on May 20,2026.
Born February 12,1953 in Fairfield, Ohio, he was the second son of Mary Lou and Cyril Kuhl.
Kevin graduated high school from Hamilton Badin High School before attending college at the General Motors Institute (GMI- currently Kettering University), where he co-oped at Fisher Body in Hamilton, Ohio. Following college, Kevin continued working for General Motors for the Metal Fabrication Group (Fisher Body), ultimately running the Dye and Press Warehouse for GM Headquarters out of Detroit, Michigan and serving as the Engineering Group Manager at GM before retiring in Sarasota, Florida.
Kevin was a master of spreadsheets and organization, both inside and outside of working hours. He was a connoisseur of fine Mc-Cuisine. He was a passionate Tennis and Pickleball player who dabbled in golf – often getting his money’s worth swinging as many times as possible before turning in his score card. Corvettes were synonymous with him and always allowed him to soak up the sun’s rays with the convertible top down.
Kevin is survived by his wife Mary (Simon), children Stacey (Craig) Rhodis, Shannon (Tim) Nieman and Brendan (Ashlee) Kuhl, grandchildren Emma, Reagan, Audrey, Lucy, Parker, Eli, Luke, Naomi, and Noah, sister Cyrilla (Smith), brother Jeff, and sister-in-law Terry. He was preceded in death by his parents Mary Lou and Cyril and brother Ralph.
The family will celebrate privately per Kevin’s instructions.
