George Lewis Salisbury

George Lewis Salisbury passed away peacefully after spending days surrounded by loved ones at the Freedom Village Health Center in Bradenton, FL, on May 17, 2024.
George was born on February 28th, 1933, to the late Phebe (Enos) Salisbury in Richmond, RI. He was a member of the Westerly High School Class of 1952 and a proud Marine veteran. George was a lifelong employee of Greene Plastics in Hope Valley, RI. During the years he lived in Westerly, RI, George was a member of the Knights of Columbus. He also built more than 30 homes in the Westerly and Charlestown area during his lifetime. When living in Venice, FL, George was the president of the Hidden Lakes Club for 8+ years and worked as a bookkeeper at his daughter’s law practice. More than anything, George was best known for his great sense of humor.
George is survived by his beloved wife of 68 years, Anne (Caruso) Salisbury. He leaves behind his two daughters, Barbara Rescigno and her husband Gary Rescigno of Bradenton, FL, and Attorney Debra Salisbury and her husband Marc Richard of Palmetto, FL. George will be dearly missed by his grandchildren, Lauren Rodriguez and her husband Chris Rodriguez of Tampa, FL and Justin Richard of Auburn, AL. He has one surviving sister, Frances Stanton of Charlestown, RI, as well as many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
George’s Celebration of Life Mass is taking place on Friday, June 28th at 10:30 am at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 2704 33rd Avenue W, Bradenton FL 34205. The military burial service will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
