Floyd A. Fred, Jr.

Floyd A. Fred Jr., 68, peacefully passed away at home Monday, August 17,2020. 

 

He was born April 28, 1952, in Jamestown, NY. And attended Falconer High School and graduated class of 1970. After graduation he joined the United States Air Force where served 4 years as a MP. Floyd moved to North Port in 1983 from Jamestown. He was the owner of several business throughout the years; all types of upholstery, designing patio furniture, and trucking. 

 

He enjoyed playing his guitar and going to the casino. 

 

He is survived by his high school sweetheart of 44 years, Donna J. Fred, Daughter: Tricia (Philip) Manganelli, of North Port; Son: Jeremy Fred, of Sarasota. Brothers: Ernest (Beth) Fred; Richard Fred, all of North Port. Sisters: Peggy (Denny) Shelters and Lisa (David) Hanselman, both of Jamestown; 5 grandchildren: Caleigh, Dane, Dylon, Trey and Ally. 

 

Floyd was proceeded in death by his parents Floyd A. Fred Sr and Audrey A. Fred of North Port. 

 

In lieu of flowers, donations may be given in his name to Tidewell Hospice Inc. 5955 Rand Blvd. Sarasota, Fl 34238. 

Arrangements are with Your Traditions funeral home of Sarasota, Fl. 

 

He will be laid to rest at Sarasota national Cemetery where a small service will be held on September 8th at 10:30 am.
