Elizabeth Jean Eakin

Elizabeth passed away suddenly after a short illness in Sarasota, Florida, where she lived with her sister, Mary, for many years. She retired from A G Edwards in Sarasota, Born in Charleston, West Virginia, she graduated from Charleston Catholic High School and West Virginia State College. She was a gifted musician and played piano, organ, guitar and other instruments. She was a Choir Director at Christ the King Catholic Church, as well as an organist for many churches in several states.
She was preceeded in death by her parents, John and Jean Eakin, her sister Mary Eakin (Carpenter), niece Kathryn ( Don Kessel), nephews John Carpenter and Albert Townsend Jr (Sara). She is survived by her sister Theresa, nephew John (Amber), niece Christine, great nephew Gary (Kelsey), great niece Shawna, as well as their 8 children.
She will also be missed by many friends in several states where she had lived. Her cat, Chelsea, has a new loving home, for which we are grateful.
A Memorial Mass will be held at Christ the King Church in Dunbar, WV on February 10 at 4:00 pm with Monsignor Dean Borgmeyer officiating. Food will be provided at the church following the service. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to Alley Cat Allies, Heifer International, or Daily Living, the tv program by Father Chapin, that she enjoyed so much.
