Edward Bartek

Ed was born in Munhall, Pennsylvania on November 14, 1942, the middle son to the late Mike and Mary Bartek.

Ed was a 1960 graduate of Munhall high school where he excelled at baseball and basketball. He went on to complete his Bachelors degree from Point Park College. Ed proudly served in the U.S. Army from 1960 - 1966 in various capacities and locations in the United States.

Ed and his first wife Martha raised their two boys - Jim and Scott - in the same hometown that he grew up in. This was good as the boys had the same small town values instilled upon them. But from the kids perspective sometimes bad as they couldn’t get away with anything as everyone knew the Bartek’s! 

Sadly, Martha passed away at the young age of 40 years. But through her and Ed’s close circle of friends he was fortunate to be introduced to the second love of his life Linda and they have enjoyed the last 38 years of marriage and making memories together. 

Ed retired from the Allegheny County Health Department in 2004. He and Linda traveled often and soon made Sarasota Florida their new home where they have enjoyed the sunshine, golf, dancing and the many social events of the Fraternal organizations they belong to: Eagles, Elks, Moose, American Legion. 

Ed is survived by his wife Linda, oldest son Jim, youngest son Scott, elder brother Bernie, younger brother Micheal and youngest sister Maryann. Along with many extended family members and close friends.
