Dennis Peter Williams of North Port, Florida passed away on June 12, 2021 at the age of 74 . He was born on August 31, 1946 in Lorain, Ohio.
Dennis enlisted in the Marine Corp following graduation from Lorain High School in 1966. He served in Vietnam until 1969. At the conclusion of his military service, he returned to Lorain, Ohio where he served with multiple law enforcement agencies. Dennis retired to Florida after many years as a commercial printing press operator.
Dennis loved watching NASCAR Racing. He was also a huge animal lover. His love for them caused him to befriend and help many lost, displaced or sick animals over the years. Dennis also enjoyed visiting the Disney parks many, many times over the years with his wife Carolyn. His appreciation of the outdoors also caused him to be quite the weather enthusiast.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Marion Williams, his brother Daniel Williams, and his step-daughter Penny Gerrard.
Survivors include; his wife, Carolyn Williams of North Port, FL; Son Mark Williams (Michelle) of Venice, FL; Daughter, Denise Williams of Bay Village, Ohio; Son Michael Williams (Toni) of Bellevue, Ohio; Step son Quinten Raines (Laura) of North Port, FL. He also had many grandchildren.
A private Military Service and interment will occur at Sarasota National Cemetery in Sarasota, Florida.
Dennis fought a long, brave battle against Parkinson’s Disease. The family wishes to thank all those that cared for Dennis during his illness. He will be deeply missed.
