Daniel T. Remsen
02/15/1944 - 01/13/2026
Daniel T Remsen was born February 15, 1944 in Sacramento, California. He was adopted as an infant to Earl E Remsen
and Lois Winifred (Fulton) and joined a brother Ronald E Remsen.
The family lived on a small farm in Butte Falls, Oregon where Dan and Ron participated in many school activities. They
enjoyed skiing, social activities and sports.
Dan was one of twelve in his graduating class at Butte Falls High School in 1962.
Following his graduation, Dan proudly served in the United States Army for twenty years demonstrating dedication and
commitment to his country. His experiences during this time shaped his character and provided him with lifelong skills
and friendships that he treasured throughout his life.
Dan met Linda House in Chicago, Illinois where they married October 26, 1991. After enjoying vacations in Florida Dan
decided to retire his snow shovel and snow blower in Illinois and never looked back as he enjoyed the last chapter of his
life in Florida with the beautiful weather it offered.
Dan worked at various jobs after his military retirement, including a long career at Staples where he was blessed with
many friends.
Dan was preceded in death by his wife and his parents. He is survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Ron and Diann
Remsen, several nieces, nephews and cousins in the northwest.
Dan was known for his generosity and willingness to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He cultivated strong
relationships within his community and was always there to offer support, whether it was through volunteering, sharing
a meal, or simply being a good listener.
Dan cherished spending time with his family and friends, often sharing stories and laughter during gatherings. His
adventurous spirit and kind heart left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.
His brother shared some memories of Dan include a gondola ride to the top of Mt. Howard near Wallowa Lake in Oregon,
and a raft trip down the cold waters of the upper Deschutes River in Central Oregon. Laughing as he joined Ron and
Diann on an air boat ride in the Everglades and joined them on a trip to Galveston, Texas and the Moody Gardens. Dan
and Linda joined family in Bend, Oregon for a ‘cousin’ reunion in 2014.
Thank you to good friends Richard and David and the amazing medical team at Sarasota Memorial Venice for caring for
this special man and being there when we couldn’t be.
