Lyn’s 12-year battle against breast cancer ended peacefully at her winter home on Siesta Key in Florida on Friday, March 8. She was surrounded by family, with her beloved dog, Lucy, lying by her side. Her dignity, positive attitude, laughter, and grace never waived throughout her long ordeal.
Lyn grew up in Chelmsford, MA with her parents, George and Judith Haggerty, known lovingly as Papa and Grandma to their grandchildren. Summers at “Camp Grandma” on the coast of Maine are a lasting memory for all and Lyn cherished her memories of a life spent by the ocean.
With her husband Mark, they raised their family in Bolton, MA., but most family memories were made on Merrymeeting Lake in New Durham, NH, starting with the original cabin that supported many wonderful summers, and with the permanent home they built there together in 2012. This home, along with the condo in Florida allowed Lyn to indulge and excel in her life-long passion of interior decorating and design. All who stepped into her homes raved about her abilities and style.
Lyn is survived by her husband, Mark, of New Durham, NH, daughter, Kelly Eldridge, her husband Justin, and the joy of her final year as “Peaches”, grandson Aiden of Chester, NH., son Christopher Sullivan and his wife Maggie, of Greenland, NH, and son Reid Sullivan and his wife Abby, of Sutton, NH.
A service will be held later in the summer on Merrymeeting Lake, the place Lyn loved to be with her family and many friends.
